Good luck

If you like, logging in incessantly and waiting for verification emails, and otherwise failing to ever launch the app, this one’s for you. More “oops sorry “ messages than I’ve ever seen. I have to buy my gas elsewhere cause this app won’t work.

Love the app, but…

When you try updating the wallet on a new phone, it always errors, resulting on multiple calls to the number it gives you, and the latest call tells me you have to wait a week before you can add the Exxon credit card to the app. The inconvenience of these calls severely impacts its rating. It’s 2025, I should be able to add my card and run through approvals in a much simpler and quicker means.

Pay at the pump with Applepay

I lost my card to my primary account and the gas station was closed. I downloaded the app, reset password, and used Apple Pay to pay at the pump within the app. Thank goodness was. I wouldn’t have made it to another gas station.

The buttons are in the wrong place to sign in. Why would you click a link above the sign in info to login? Took me 3 minutes to reset password and I didn’t have 3 minutes to spare. Do better. Switching to a gas station with better tech.

Not consistent

Sometimes says I get an error that says I have exceeded attempts in a 24 hour period, then I can’t get gas with the app. Big problem there.

Direct Debit+ is Worthless

Since I’ve signed up for app and direct debit +, I’ve only gotten the $.10 discount twice out of 10 visits. Total scam.

Hasn’t worked in two years

I haven’t been able to login in two years. I tried to sign in with my Apple ID and it says login failed. When I try to do forgot password it says this account doesn’t exist.

Honest review: the app is worth downloading. You can pay with your cell phone and it speeds up the entire process when putting gas in your car.

Love this app!

I absolutely love the ease of using this app. As a single female that drives a lot, it’s so much better to sit in my car, open the app, it immediately recognizes where I am, type in the pump # , and then decide to use my points or not. Within less than a minute, the pump is ready to use. I just hop out of the car, select grade, set up auto fill, and then when done just put the nozzle away. I think it’s fantastic to not have to have my credit card out, or worry about the credit card skimmers, etc. It’s both safer and more efficient. I haven’t had any issues with it being buggy, even when traveling through small towns.

SpeedPass+ review - won’t update with newest Exxon Mobil card

Used to like this the app! I was an early adopter of the old SpeedPass key chain tag and migrated to the app. Recently, got a new Exxon Mobil credit card. Tried to update the card in the app and it wouldn’t take the info. Says my phone number isn’t on the account. I call bull!! Phone number hasn’t changed on the app or on my credit card. And the “No Help Desk” isn’t responsive. Will plan on discontinuing Exxon Mobil and move to another gas vendor when my account is paid.

I don’t know what is wrong with this app. You would think a company with as much money as Exxon would be able to figure out something simple like logging in. Every so often I get logged out. When logging back in I get an error code ER8. It tells me something went wrong and I should try again after sometime. This issue is constant and consistent and beyond frustrating.

I was at the gas station trying to pump gas and I kept getting an error alert saying “try again in 24 hours”. 24 hours is a long time. I had to go pump gas at a different gas station that was not Exxon affiliated. Even though the Exxon gas station is further away from me, I only go to it because of the app. I need to check if the gas station closer to me has a similar app because going to Exxon today was a waste of my time.

Dangerous app

I used the app to activate a pump and the pump did not dispense any fuel. Since I had to be work on time I decided to just return the nozzle back to the pump and get fuel later. It appears the app and/or pump kept the pump on and subsequent customers were able to fuel up using my account. At the end it charged me $125 for fuel I did not pump. This happens to be the limit but the app kept allowing the pump to keep dispensing to 888 gallons!

For months now the station I go to all the pumps I try to pay for on the app don’t work. Then if you try at three different pumps it says you’ve tried to buy too much gas and can’t for 24hrs. What?!?!? I didn’t buy anything!!!!! So then I have to try and login at the screen and use my rewards which it says you need a pin for. WHAT PIN?!?!? Super annoying and just going to go to a different name gas station where their app actually works!!

I love using the app to pay for gas but it’s been months were I can’t even login or sign up with a different number, I click sign in and it kicks me out back to the login page and I’ve tried deleting the app but nothing works.

Since I installed only credited 3 transactions. 4 previous transactions weren't credited and 7 more until today also failed to register even after following carefully the steps required. The only 3 that were credited was a result of a phone call I made to the company and posterior email I sent to them with copies of the transaction receipts.

I love the Exxon Mobil App. I really do. I’ll go between Valero and Exxon app and the one thing Valero tops the Exxon app in is the prices for gas at their different stations. If Exxon integrated this into their app, they would be the perfect app in my opinion

Can’t log in: error code ER8

After updating the app it keeps throwing error code ER8 and won’t let you log in. Website works so you can view account info, but you won’t be able to use the app to pump gas. Searched online and it looks like an issue for quite some time. Would you please fix it as soon as possible? Thanks. Update on 3/8/25: Good thing first: was able to log in to app now. Thanks. Now the frustration: the app is WAY too sensitive and won’t let you pump gas if anything didn’t go perfectly the first time. For example, if for whatever reason the first attempt didn’t go through successfully (let’s say the pump triggered a fraud alert with your credit card), it won’t allow you to make a second attempt. It will simply say “too many tries in the last 24hrs, please try again later”. And it won’t help if you switch to a different pump. Seriously? If something didn’t go right the first time, a second try is too many, and we need to wait 24hrs to try again?? I understand the developers wanted to include some security measure to protect the account and I do appreciate the effort, but please set a REASONABLE bar instead of bluntly blocking patrons from using the app! Chances are some tech glitch may occur from time to time when you pump gas with the app (for instance, at a station with poor signal in a cloudy evening), but the app leaves almost no room for any glitches! In addition, even if the first attempt is successful, it doesn’t like people to use it again on the same day. Sometimes I have offers from different credit cards and want to make two translations with different cards. But it won’t let you pump a second time (same reason — too many tries!). The current algorithm sometimes makes me wonder if it was written by ExxonMobil’s competitors just to direct drivers away from fueling at Exxon Mobil stations …… If the developers are reading this, please fix it to allow a less frustrating fueling experience, and thank you in advance!

I’ve had this app for quite some time and it’s really hit or miss on if you can use it at the pump. A lot of times it does not find the place. I’m at or is not accepted. I also have individual cards for my family and there’s no place to set up alerts when it’s being used or a way to protect yourself from fraud. They haven’t caught up with the rest of the world with texting alerts. So your only options are to email yourself statements more frequently. I would just expect better from anything that had Exxon’s name on it.

Rewards program is a scam

I have been a Rewards member for years, but didn’t use Exxon much for a long time. In 2023 I started going often. I usually pay for my gas with discounted gift cards, so on most visits they were swiping my Rewards card multiple times. When I tried to redeem my Rewards though, the station attendant was never able to do it. The pump provides no reason. Finally, I contacted the Rewards people and found out my account was locked for redemption. They asked me a bunch of questions that clearly indicated they thought I had violated the TOS by using this for a business or sharing with other people. I was only getting less than $50 gas per month so that was a ridiculous accusation, but I played along and answered all the questions. They told me in 7-10 days it would be resolved. Despite repeated emails, 1.5 years later I still can’t redeem any of the rewards I earned. My rewards keep expiring and they will not unlock my account or replenish the expired rewards I was not able to redeem (because my account was and is locked). After radio silence for 6+ months they finally replied to me the other day. They asked me the same questions all over again and told me 7-10 days again. This is just an endless loop while I keep buying Exxon gas and earning rewards they never let me use. So far I have been defrauded of at least $20 worth of rewards. The entire program is a scam.
